For laminitics, for calming and for optimal hooves. Fine white powder which is virtually tasteless and more accepted in the feed than Calcined Magnesite (CalMag). It has a lower feeding rate due to its higher availability.
Typical daily maintenance feeding rate for 500kg horse is 10g oxide, providing 5.6g elemental magnesium, but for harder working horses this can be raised.

My Verdict: They taste nice with a hint of tangy lemon, are not sickly at all, and give quite an energy boost when you need it, they are great for carrying in the pack and tipping into a water bottle. NOT at all like the glucose loaded, syrupy and acidic, artificially flavoured leading brands!

I use the vanilla flavour in Tesco value soy milk, but add flavours such as camp coffee, fresh fruit to make smoothies, ground almonds etc.
